Equipment You Will Need

A microfiber cloth, rugs, or sponge. An old t-shirt, old towel, an old washcloth are also usable as a rag. You will also need a good floor cleaner, as we are following the traditional method so we will use a homemade floor cleaner that was being used by our granny’s and suitable for all types of floor ( linoleum, hardwood, tile, laminate). Then we will need a bucket, a scrubber, and a pair of knee pads, that’s all.

Step 1. Make a Cleaning Solution

The first thing we will do is make the cleaning solution. We will take one gallon of warm water, two cups of white vinegar, a few drops of dish liquid or one tablespoon of dish detergent, and one pinch of baking soda. Mix all these ingredients, until all are dissolved.

Step 2. Dry-clean The Kitchen First

Now we have to prepare the floor before we move to wet/deep cleaning. We have to do dry cleaning with a broom to get rid of much dirt or dry mopping with a rag. You can also use a vacuum cleaner if you have one. In that case, it is recommended that you use a vacuum cleaner with brush attachments to remove dust from nooks and crannies which can cause food particles to accumulate beneath hand-operated appliances such as stoves or dishwashers.

Step 3. Start the Deep Cleaning Process (wet Cleaning)

After dry cleaning, it’s time to deep clean. Take some of the solutions you made on a bucket, and pour some on a spray bottle. Now wear your knee pads, dip the rag, squeeze extra water (make sure the rag isn’t dripping), and clean the floor with the rag in a circular motion. Don’t leave any place on the kitchen floor, mop each corner and whole floor.

Step 4.  Brush Away The Floor Evenly

If there is any stubborn stain that doesn’t come off, you can take a scrubber or a brush, spray some solution on the stain and scrub gently until the stain is gone. You can also make a baking soda paste with some warm water and apply to the stain, leave it for fifteen minutes and wipe away with a damp cloth.

Step 5. Air-Dry the Floor

When the deep cleaning is done, don’t be late, take a microfiber cloth and wipe away the whole floor with it. Doing so will make sure there is no excess moisture on the floor, which means no chance of damage. Leave it for a few minutes to air dry.

Digital Method

Just like we can clean our floor without a mop in a traditional way, we can also use some digital cleaning tools instead of a mop, and it’s simple to use with better results.

Also, it can be used for other purposes such as to remove dust and pet hair from upholstery, carpet, bedspreads, baseboards, and curtains. This makes it a flexible cleaning product that can do many different things within the home.
